Fiend Eyes New Prey

Fiend WWE Bray Wyatt

It is no secret that one of the best characters going for WWE right now is the Fiend character. For those unfamiliar with the Fiend, he is the alter ego of Bray Wyatt. He is an athlete that has gone through more than a few transformations since joining the main roster. Initially getting over with fans as the leader of the Wyatt Family, an interesting stable that ultimately went nowhere. After disbanding that stable, Wyatt would flounder in various feuds till the Fiend was introduced. The Fiend has set his eyes upon a new prey, even before he finishes his business with Goldberg. The former WCW icon challenged the WWE Universal Champion on the February 7th 2020 episode of Smackdown Live).

Origins of the mask

The Fiend is a striking alter ego, thanks in no small part to the mask he wears. The Fiend represents a new style character never before seen in wrestling. SESCoops has a good article covering how the mask was created by the man behind work on Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, and even masks for Rowan and Harper – who were also members of the Wyatt Family.

The mask seemingly gives Wyatt superpowers. Mask worn by horror icons like Jason and Michael Myers also showcased hidden powers. These powers were showcased in matches already. The Fiend wrestleds a very different style than those of Bray Wyatt since the dual character idea was introduced.

Eyeing new prey

On the February 14th, 2020 episode of Smackdown Live we saw Hulk Hogan join via satellite from his home. Goldberg appeared in a similar fashion the previous week on Smackdown Live. Just like with Goldberg, who is facing the Fiend at Super Showdown on February 28th in Saudi Arabia, Bray Wyatt interrupted the interview.

Joining the discussion from the Firefly Funhouse, Wyatt made some ominous statements in reply to Hulk Hogan who was addressing the Fiend/Goldberg match to come. Wyatt made it clear that Hogan should watch his back by holding up a picture of Hulk Hogan from earlier in his career wearing the red and yellow ring gear. Much like the other pictures that don the walls of the Firefly Funhouse the eyes and mouth of Hogan’s picture were obscured.

Hogan should be concerned about his surroundings, especially if attending WWE events in the future.
