First RetroMania Wrestling Downloadable Character Announced

RetroMania Wrestling Nikita Koloff Joins

Retrosoft Studios are keeping fans of their upcoming RetroMania Wrestling interested. Earlier today the first downloadable character was announced. Considering this is the official sequel to the 1991 arcade game, Wrestlefest, fans have good reason to be excited. The launch roster is already stacked, recently adding two former WWE stars. Now they are adding someone from another promotion.

RetroMania Wrestling mixes old with new

For those that do not know about RetroMania Wrestling, it is a mix of new and old. The art style, presentation, and audio are built around appearing like this was made in the 90’s. The athletes featured are mostly new. There are a few old school here such as The Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal. Then you have younger talent such as Matt Cardona and Brian Myers. Cardona and Myers may be better known as Zack Ryder and Kurt Hawkins, respectively, formerly of the WWE.

Seriously, check out the gameplay video below. You will see what I mean.

Introducing Chris Bey to the roster

Retrosoft Studios have stated up front that Chris Bey will be free to download. This is awesome of them but hints that future athletes will come with a charge to add. Downloadable Content (DLC) is one way developers and publishers monetize their games after first sale. Some of us hate it, others accept it, no one loves it.

Most recently, Chris Bey has seen action on television with IMPACT Wrestling. Previously he was a final competitor in the IndieMania event that Retrosoft Studios ran in December 2019.

Where to get RetroMania Wrestling

You can currently pre-order RetroMania Wrestling on Nintendo Switch and Steam. The game is also planned for launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, pre-orders on the Sony and Microsoft consoles is not available due to how purchases are handled.

So, are you excited for RetroMania Wrestling? What athletes do you want to see as future DLC?
